In MLM, how many times have you said or heard people on your team say, “I give up!” The problem often turns out to be they thought they could conquer the world in a few months.

In MLM, how many times have you said or heard people on your team say, “I give up”? Or, sometimes, they just disappear and you never hear them say anything at all. They’re all gung-ho to conquer the world, and the next thing you know, they disappear off the face of the earth. The problem often turns out to be they thought they could conquer the world in a few months. I remember having that mindset when I first started out many years ago.

When you see other people get to the top of a network marketing company in a short period of time, you wonder, “How’d they do that so quick?” and “How come it hasn’t happened to me yet?” It can be frustrating and discouraging. Before getting upset and going ballistic, though, realize there’s some story behind the scenes–some unique set of circumstances. It doesn’t mean you don’t measure up!

Before you give up, remember that whatever you’re doing with your business, you’re taking steps toward your financial freedom. But, that’s something you don’t achieve over night! Just keep taking those steps and don’t give up too soon! As my grandma used to say, “Can’t never did anything!”

The most important thing is not to think of network marketing as just an income producing enterprise that will immediately produce a huge paycheck. It’s a self development business that takes time. The more you work to develop your skills to become an entrepreneur and leader, the more successful you will be. This concept is crucial and one of the main reasons for my success.

When I first started, I had zero skills, believe me. I’ve tried just about everything and done it for years. Looking back, it’s hard to believe some of the crazy things I’ve done and said. I remember being made fun of at the family holiday dinners and all those times people saying to me, “You making any money yet? (snicker, snicker.)” It was hard work, expensive, and it took time and lots of patience. There were sacrifices made. But, I never gave up. I worked hard, painstakingly developed my skills, and built quite a successful business over the years.

Most people have backgrounds as employees and it’s important to change that mindset when you get into network marketing. You have to start thinking of yourself as an entrepreneur and your business as a real business. You have to take control of your own personal success. You no longer have a boss that tells you what you have to do. It’s now all up to you. You have to make all the decisions, work hard, exercise self discipline, and stay with it. Then, one day, you wake up and find that you’ve become a real, live entrepreneur. It’s now your lifestyle! It feels great to be your own boss. You have more drive to hang in there and succeed.

Another employee mindset you have to shed is having to have a paycheck handed to you after working so many hours. Entrepreneurs are willing to work for free for years because they see the big picture! They understand the concept of “delayed gratification.” This is why people with an entrepreneurial mindset do well in network marketing because they never give up!

To increase your “staying power,” work on entrepreneurial traits, such as studying the network marketing business, being coachable, seeking out and learning from those who have achieved success, and keeping company with people who encourage and uplift you. There are some great resources at Network Marketing Times on becoming an entrepreneur. Read Robert Kiyosaki’s books and listen to his CDs. Read other books on business and be sure to develop a business plan. Jim Rohn says that when you fail, you failed to plan.

Not giving up on network marketing has turned out to the saving grace in my life! In the last few years, I have suffered with some very serious health challenges and couldn’t work for months at a time. If I had been working at a traditional job, I would have gotten fired and gone broke. Instead, because I worked hard in those first three to five years to develop myself and create a solid foundation in my network marketing business, I developed a residual income that later paid me even when I wasn’t able to work. My firm conviction and advice to all is, “Never, never give up!”

Harnessing the Law of Attraction in MLM by Joyce Hyam

Everyone is talking about the Law of Attraction. Even Oprah talks about it! In network marketing as well as other entrepreneurial businesses, people are always recommending books that refer to the Law of Attraction, like Think and Grow Rich, The Science of Getting Rich, and The Secret, just to name a few. The Law of Attraction is truly a natural law, just like gravity. You can’t see it under a microscope, but it is something that we all experience and can effectively harness in our network marketing businesses. A team member said that after she learned about how to use the Law of Attraction deliberately, she had two prospects join her team that week, and they called her!

So, how does this law work? What do you need to know to use it to grow your business? I am sure you have heard the expression, “Like attracts like.” In simple terms, you enjoy the company of and become friends with people you have something in common with and feel good around. There is a positive energy exchange, which creates an attraction. The Law of Attraction is all about creating positive energy.

When you are around other people, they pick up on your vibes—positive or negative. People want to do business with individuals who have positive vibes. When you feel happy and joyful and radiate positive energy, it is contagious and uplifts prospects or customers. It is like tapping them with a magic wand that makes them feel special and elated. Now, the prospects want whatever you have to offer because they want to feel the positive energy you feel and radiate. They want to exude that same positive energy you do when you walk into a room or greet others. Remember, people buy or join your network marketing company based on emotion and then justify with logic.

What kind of energy do you have? It’s important to learn to read your own feelings or vibes and recognize how you come across to others. Ask yourself: “What are my feelings and what am I putting out there?” Is your energy negative or positive? Are you fearful of rejection? Fear is negative energy. Are you angry or upset with someone? Are you focusing on the disappointing team members or prospects instead of on the people who are helping you and saying yes to you? Do you give others reasons to want to join your team? Do you smile when you greet someone and make them feel welcome? Do you help individuals with their wants or needs? Do you listen to others with a caring attitude? When you focus on the positive and what you want to be, you will generate a positive transfer of energy in your encounters with prospects and customers. You will not only feel better, but your business is sure to grow because others will be attracted to you.

It’s just like when children feel happy about an upcoming party or event, they are so excited, they tell their friends and parents and are bubbling over with genuine, positive energy. Try to capture that childlike exuberance you felt as a child when you viewed the world with your authentic self—without fear, reservations, criticism, blame, and other negative energy. An essential ingredient to the equation is you absolutely must be not only passionate but genuine! Your positive energy must not be hype or fake--people pick up on passion and sincerity.

Just recently, I heard a story from a realtor friend who was interviewed by a couple who wanted to sell their home. The couple had interviewed three other realtors. My friend was questioned about her commission and spoke from her heart. She said she felt confident that she could sell the couples’ home as she believed in herself, would work diligently and do her best to give them the best service. Now, any other realtor could have used those same words and even charged a smaller commission. When my friend got the call that she was getting the listing, she asked the couple why they chose her even though her commission was higher than that of her competitors. Their answer was they liked her energy. The couple felt the transfer of positive energy--in this case, my friend’s confidence, caring attitude, and kindness. We want to be around others like that!

I recently heard a lady say she was approached three times about the same network marketing opportunity and made her choice because she liked the way that individual made her feel. That’s the power of the Law of Attraction!

It’s interesting to note that those people with negative energy usually give up in network marketing. Why? Because they are thinking and feeling negatively and that is what they get in return—negative results. So, it is essential that you focus your energy on those who are positive, and you, yourself, must be positive in order to attract those people.

Those who want to succeed in a customer driven business such as MLM, must learn to pay attention to the energy they are exuding into the universe and it must be positive if they are to succeed. You must approach positive people because they are the ones who know what they want and are willing to put energy, attention, and focus on it. They are the team builders. They are the uplifting people. They are the people you want to be around. It is essential to think about this before you start talking to others about what you have to offer them.

It is very important to learn the Art of Deliberate Attraction. It is a powerful force in your life and it is working all the time. If handled correctly, it results in attracting people, customers, situations, and relationships into your life.

FUNDAMENTAL QUESTIONS TO MOVE TO THE NEXT LEVEL

In my previous post, i talked about four fundamental questions you need to ask yourself in other check yourself and move your business to another level, thereby earning more money.

The first question you need to ask yourself is WHY AM I DOING THIS? Why did you commit yourself to the business in the first place?You must have a strong WHY for doing the business, this WHY is your dream, your desire,what you want so much that gives you sleeples nights. this your WHY will give determiation to succed when you face challenges. Failure will not overcome me if desire to succed is strong enough - O.G Mandino. what will you be doing today if you have all the money you want.......what you will be doing should be your WHY.

The second question you should ask yourself is WHY NOT? why not take the next step, you are limited to that postion... aspire and move up, why not make that call, why not buy that ride you love so much, why not pack out of that uncomfortable place you are living and move to a better place. Unlimit yourself, the only thing you have to lose are your limitations. We have all abilityto do all things, the difference is how we use them. GOD creadte us to rule and reign

The next question to ask yourself is WHY NOT ME? those people in your organization that were being recognized for job well done, those leaders that were getting the bigger checks...ask yourself WHY NOT ME? Dont be jealous just ask yourself this question, what are you doing that you not doing, i'm sure they dont have two heads and most of them will have similar story and background to yours. So why why are you still there. ask yourself WHY NOT ME? and take proper actions.

The last question to ask yourself is WHY NOT NOW? why must must it be in 7,10 or many years from now for you to achieve to achieve your dreams. your success start from now, the rate of your daily success will determine whether you'll be successful or not.

The above fundamental question is what i've been using to check and challenge myslef over difficulties and it has helped to make proper decision and earn more money.....

NETWORK MARKETING...... JUST LIKE FOOTBALL

I’m a network marketer, also a football fan (in fact about 90% of people in my country loves football). Interestingly, both have some things in common.

Network marketing is just like a football match where we have the spectators, the commentators, and the players, and we also have two types of players: the champions and the losers.

The stadium where the match is played is like the MLM Company. The pitch has to be good so that the players can play good and entertaining football, therefore success in MLM in the industry is partly determined by the company you are partnering.
Did the company have good training and support system? How about the compensation plan, does it make sense and is it workable? Above all do you like the product? Because as a network marketer you have to love what you are doing and make it fun. Just like the football players they enjoy playing soccer and they get paid for it. So be part of an MLM company that suits your personality.

Next are the spectators, they are there to watch and cheer the players. The spectators in MLM just join your business to come and try, to come and have a look; they joined because you are doing it and end up doing nothing. Spectators don’t get paid in MLM just in football matches, instead they the one paying to watch the match (paying to have a look?)

Next are the commentators, this category of people only talks about the industry, they analyze, they criticize, they lament, they complain and they wonder how some distributors are making so much money and others are making little. Don’t be a commentating network marketer, because they are frustrated and are on their way out of the industry

Now lets talk about the players, that is those people that really doing the business, the business builders and the leaders, they are one the spectators are watching and ones that commentators are talking about. But we have two categories, the winners and the losers just in the football matches.
The winners know why they want to play the match, they also know what is at stake and they prepared well, play smart, make good use of their opportunity, work together as a team, and with little bit of LUCK (Laboring Under Correct Knowledge), they came out of the match as victors.
The losers on the other hand fail to do what the winners did, they struggled, missed opportunities and failed to follow their plan (because it is not well constructed), at the end of the day they lose and they start pointing accusing fingers to the referees, the coaches even themselves for their woes.
Andre Theron once said, in MLM you can make money or you can make excuse, but you can’t make both. It is much better to make money, and make excuse your archenemy.

So which one do you want to be a spectator, commentator or the players? If you want to be a champion, these questions will help you.

4. Why not now?

We started this year very humbly, making vows and deciding to do great things and also to improve on our standard of living so that we can celebrate the next Christmas and new year's season in a better way.

Now, January has February has gone, and march too, which means we are through with the first quarter of the year, the question we have to ask ourselves now is WHAT HAVE I ACHIEVED?
Have you been working towards your set goals? and are you making any efforts at all to make this year better than the last, or you are still there making different kind of excuses, complaining about the economic meltdown, the behaviour of your sponsor or boss, or you are still waiting for the government to come and provide everything for you?

If you are a Network marketer like me or any other profession out there, you have to ask yourself this question so as to determine whether you are moving forward, stagnant or backward. This will help you to make necessary alignments so that your set goal at the end of the year can become a reality.

But before you can achieve this, you have to change your direction because if you don't, you'll just find yourself busy doing the same thing and bfore you know it another new year will be knocking and you'll shout "happy new year" (what's new in the year anyway, when nothing is about you). you cannot continue to do the same thing and expect different result.

In fact, the real meaning of madness is doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results. Lamentation and blaming the government, the economy, and blaming others for your woos will not improve your situation.
Plan and decide to make the right changes and take necessary actions, and you'll see yourself gradually moving to the top....

CAUSES OF FAILURE
Why are some people successful and others not?
1. Laziness/Indolence: laziness is the secret ingredient that causes failure, but it’s only hidden from the person who fails. One major reason for failure is laziness. Many people are not really prepared to work hard enough in other to stand out in life. “Laziness is not lack of strength, but diverting strength. Striving for success without hardwork is like trying to harvest where you haven’t planted”- David Bly.
2. Blindness to opportunities: many people today are POOR today because they Pass Over Opportunity Repeatedly. Thomas Edison once said: opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overall and looks like work. Many people today are labeled as failure, simply because they are blind to opportunities. Most of the successful people the world celebrate was as a result of opportunity maximized in their time. Some of them are problem solvers, because every problem is an opportunity turned upside down, seeking for solution. Open your eyes to business and investment around you, solve problem for your organization, create value for humanity. It increases your success rate in life.
3. Ignorance: lack of knowledge is indeed a major reason people fail. What you don’t know, you don’t know. The Hebrew meaning for ignorance is darkness while that of knowledge is light. Lack of all knowledge is the root of all lack. If you are not informed, you will be deformed. Top achievers never joke with valuable information.
4. Bad company: evil association corrupt good manner. The company you move with matter, it will eventually determine whether you will fail or succeed in life. Your friend can make your future or mar it. Make a choice. There is a saying that “ A thousand good friends are not enough, but one bad one is too much”.
5. fear: many people have excused themselves from being a success simply because they are risk averse. They refuse to take giant steps in daring their dream. There are some that does not even want to take a step at all due to fear of unknown and remain where they are till date.

Jane and Mary are both in network marketing. They both possess equal talent, resources, and motivation. However, their approaches to recruiting and business-building are quite different.

Jane is determined to enroll as many new business partners as possible into her organization each month. So far she's been pretty successful at it. In the last year, she signed up 300 people, averaging twenty-five new associates per month and even winning her company's "Top Recruiter" award.

In looking at her organizational charts, however, she notices that the great majority of her new distributors aren't doing anything, and quite a few of them have even resigned from the company already. She'll be lucky if she still has fifteen active people left in a few months. And she'll be really lucky if any of them are duplicating what she's been doing.

Oh well, she thinks. Most people are lazy. I'll just work with the ones who really want to improve their lives. Meanwhile – back to recruiting! After all, if the drop-out rate's going to be that high, I better get as many new people as I can to compensate for it.

Mary, on the other hand, has been averaging one or two new enrollments per month. She's been carefully screening and interviewing her prospects, making as sure as she can that they have the skills, resources, and attitudes they'll need to be successful. She takes the time to get to know them, learn what their needs are, and most importantly, find out if they really want to do what she does. Above all, she wants to make sure her opportunity will be a good fit for her new business builders.

She also expects to do a lot of training and hand-holding with each person she accepts into her organization – at least during their first few weeks. And she knows this will take time.

When Mary looks at her organizational chart, she feels very satisfied that nearly all of her recruits are still active.

In fact, many of them are successfully duplicating what she does and continue to enroll one or two qualified prospects per month. Consequently, thanks to the power of multiplication, her organization has grown in size to several hundred business builders over the last year.

It's quite clear in this story that Mary is trying to put her prospects' needs first, and Jane has other priorities.

Now please don't think I'm about to start preaching some goody-goody philosophy of network marketing. While I admit,I usually prefer kindness and generosity over greed while traipsing down the road of life, there's actually a very practical, down-to-earth reason for considering your prospects' welfare above your own…

It's good for your business.

After all, wouldn't you prefer to work with loyal, qualified people who stick with it? (Emphasis on the words, "stick with it.") It doesn't matter how many starter pack bonuses you earn in the short run, in the long run you'll never reach cruising altitude unless you have a lot of dedicated folks under you. And that doesn't happen unless you earn their trust and loyalty by showing them in a very authentic way that you care about their success. And of course, by teaching them how to be successful.

And admit it. Doesn't it make life a lot more fun when you build long-lasting personal relationships while you build your business?

Giving your recruits what they need and want, thereby reducing your drop-out rate, is also good for the network marketing industry. Just imagine how many disgruntled ex- MLMers there are out there, telling everyone they know that network marketing is a rip-off and that it's impossible to succeed at it. You know what a problem that creates. If you would seriously like to change that image, join the "Put Prospects First" movement.

In summary, here are four things you can do to accomplish this:

1. Find out what your prospects' needs are and help them decide if network marketing will help fill those needs. If it won't, let them go.

2. Get to know your prospects well enough to determine if they have the skills, resources, and attitude necessary for success. If not, steer them gently in another direction. You'll be doing them a favor, and they'll probably be grateful for your honesty.

3. Don't twist their arms or use any other form of manipulation to get them to sign with you. If they're not already genuinely enthusiastic, you've got a guaranteed drop-out on your hands.

4. After they've joined your team, take however much time they need for training and hand-holding. Commit yourself to their success.

By putting your prospects' needs before your own, you'll be building a stronger organization, giving the network marketing industry a better image, and creating some awesome friendships.
